Recycled Gin Bottle Necklace
This lovely pendant is created from the neck of an old gin bottle.
When I first saw this bottle it was orange, however when you scrape the plastic film off it was clear glass underneath. It had a really interesting neck and I was interested to see what it would do in my kiln.
So once it was cleaned I used my kiln to melt it, slumping the glass and taking off all the sharp edges. It's got a lovely flat bottom which sits well against your skin.
But it was still missing something so I put it in my tumbler for the day and when it came out, it had the look and feel of sea glass.
And it's very tactile, the sort of thing you want to rub your thumb over and caress.
I've used a strong leather cord with sliding knots, so it should fit anyone and you can get it to sit at any length you like.
