Beady Keyring - purple
This purple and white chunk of glass will help you keep your keys safe, or add a little something extra to your favourite bag.
Made from three different purple glasses and some white, they are strung together on brown leather cord.
Each bead is made from rods of coloured glass which I melt in a flame and shape into beads. The large bead in the middle uses dots of different colours to give the feathered effect and takes me about 35 minutes to make.
It has a lovely feel and weight to it and the texture of the large bead makes me want to play with it, running my thumb over the bumps of the bead.
While glass can be fragile these beads have been annealed in my kiln making them very strong. (I've dropped beads like this on a stone floor before and they've not had a mark on them!) But they are still glass so some care should be taken.
This set could make a lovely gift for someone special.
